The 2012 470 Masters’ Cup will be hosted by the Yacht Club Gaeta in Italy. Gaeta is a medieval town located approximately 130km south of Rome. The nearest major port is Naples.

The 470 Masters’ Cup includes racing for four specific age divisions:
Apprentice Masters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 30th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than sixty years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed. Masters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 35th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than seventy years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed. Grandmasters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 50th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than one hundred years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed. Grand-Grandmasters: one of the crew members of the boat has attained his or her 60th birthday and the addition of the ages of the two members is more than one hundred and twenty years before the end of the year in which the Cup is sailed.
Open Asitalia 470 The Open Asitalia 470 is taking place immediately before the 470 Masters' Cup, from 21-23 July 2012, at Yacht Club Gaeta EVS, Italy.

By train Nearest stop is the city of Formia (10 minutes by taxi from Gaeta city centre)
