RYA - Zone Championships.

Welcome to the RYANI Youth Championships and Schools Cup Website

This is Northern Ireland's premier Youth and Junior Sailing event in the calendar. The event will offer youth and junior sailors high level competition as well as accessible training and coaching through a RYANI coach supported regatta fleet.

Competitors are invited to race in the Optimist, Topper, Topper 4.2, Mirror, Feva XL fleets if they are under 16 as of 31st December 2016, and may compete in Laser 4.7, Laser Radial and 420 fleets if they are under 19 as of 31st December 2016.

Please ensure you read the Notice of Race for full event details before entering. Note: RYA Members receive a discount for entry (details on how to beciome an RYA Member can be found below).

Please enter for the event online, applications will not be accepted after the 19th September.

The event will also act as an indicator for all sailors interested in being selected for RYANI Junior and Youth Squads.

John Merricks Sailing Trust

The John Merricks Sailing Trust (JMST) seeks to help young sailors and youth sailing organisations to achieve their goals and was set up in the memory of leading Olympic sailor and 1996 Olympic silver medallist John Merricks. As the Official Charity Partner of OnBoard, the JMST will donate at least 50 single-handed junior pathway boats and boards (Optimist, Topper, Laser 4.7 and Bic Techno 293OD) to promising sailors over five years, providing them with the opportunity to progress their skills and continue to participate in the sport.
