2008 470 Masters' Cup Microsite

The 2008 Master's Cup is now over, it was a wonderful event, worth the long travel distance.

We were impressed by the City of Varna, its proud history, blooming life and excellent sailing conditions.

The organization took more than one year and the friendly collaboration of several yacht clubs - the club house we enjoyed was just a dusty construction site one week before the event. We would like to thank the Bulgarian Sailing Federation, the City and Port of Varna and the Yacht Clubs of Varna for their generous hospitality and competent organization.

Thanks also to the Racing Commitee for the well-laid courses, the international jury for their watching eyes and to the numerous helpers. Special thanks to the little Optimist sailors who one day will be the 470 Masters.

The 2008 Master's Cup was an oportunity to make new friends and I hope we will see some of them again. The next 470 Master's Cup will take place at Lake Achensee, Austria, a central spot in Europe where we expect numerous participants.
